Twenty Years of Exhibitions and Community Engagement

Over the past twenty years, we have presented more than 254 exhibitions representing various cultures and traditions, from the tombs of ancient Egypt to the sleek lines of Italian automobiles and the iconic armor of Japanese samurai. We have also focused on the work of individual artists and their incredible impact on society and our own lives. By engaging our community through Free Family Festival Days, live community performances, and mobile Art Trunks for schools and Community Partners, we continue our work even outside our walls.

Our Middle Tennessee community has helped make these experiences possible. Because of you, we welcomed our four-millionth visitor in 2019 and continue to present twelve to fifteen breathtaking exhibitions each year. At the Frist Art Museum, we believe that an encounter with art has the power to expand the horizons of children and adults alike. Art helps us find solace and strength in the face of uncertainty and inspires us to discover beauty and creativity in the world around us.
