Homeschool Families and Groups
We invite homeschool families to visit any day we are open. We encourage larger groups to make advance reservations, which allows for an exhibition tour and group discount. You can also drop in during one of our Homeschool Mondays.
Please check our calendar of events for the next Homeschool Monday and other programs.
We also offer a variety of online resources, and be sure to review our in-person tours and online tour options.
Adult and College Tours
Adult tours are offered to all adult groups and college students.
Docent-guided, self-guided, and virtual tour options are available.
Community Partners
Community Partner groups can make reservations for self-guided, docent-guided, or online virtual tours.
Not sure if you are a Community Partner? Find out here.
Online Tours
Live (synchronous) virtual tours are led by a Frist Art Museum docent. They offer real-time looks at select works in an exhibition and encourage close study and conversation. These tours are each approximately 30-45 minutes long.
These tours are offered to school-age and adult groups.
Architecture Tours
“When was the Frist Art Museum built? Who was the architect? Can you tell me about the floors in the galleries?”
These are just some of the questions answered in the Frist Art Museum’s popular architecture tours.
Stroll around the Frist Art Museum and learn more about our landmark building from one of our always-engaging docents. Constructed between 1933 and 1934, during the throes of the Great Depression, the former post office is a prominent Nashville architectural treasure from the art deco period.
Architecture Tours are offered every Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and are free to attend. An ASL interpreter is available on the first Saturday of each month.

Accessibility Tours
For our visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing
On the first Saturday of each month, certified American Sign Language interpreters will be available for both the 1:30 p.m. Docent Walk-up Tour and the 3:30 p.m. Architecture Tour. No advance reservation for either tour is required. ASL interpretation is generously supported by Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, a Middle Tennessee nonprofit serving the deaf and hard of hearing community.
