Partnering with more than fifteen different community organizations, the Frist Art Museum’s outreach team has worked to create the opportunity to celebrate our varied heritages through artwork inspired by personal family stories and memories. Inspired by Connecting Cultures: Children’s Stories from Across the World, members of these various community partner organizations have created and compiled an exhibition of ninety artworks, which will be on view at the Frist Art Museum this fall.

In honor of all Frist Art Museum Community Partners and participating exhibition artists, an opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Upper-Level Foyer. During the reception, musician Carlos Enrique and the literary and performing artists group Nashville Youth Speaks will give special performances beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by remarks by the chairman of the Frist Art Museum Community Marketing and Outreach Council, Howard Gentry.
