Slow down, reflect, and renew through art and writing. As current studies attest, contemplative practices like expressive writing, art viewing, and meditation can support human health, healing, and well-being. Join us for this three-part workshop series as we explore how these modalities can promote healthy self-awareness, personal enjoyment, and care for both self and community. Register for individual classes or the full series!

In this series, we’ll take time to closely examine works featured in the exhibitions The Impressionist Revolution: Monet to Matisse from the Dallas Museum of Art, International Surrealism from Tate: Fifty Years of Dreams, and Anila Quayyum Agha: Interwoven and then respond to them through guided writing prompts.

May 2—Part I invites participants to bridge art viewing and expressive writing using inspiration from the exhibition The Impressionist Revolution: Monet to Matisse from the Dallas Museum of Art

June 6—Part II encourages participants to make connections to the exhibition International Surrealism from Tate: Fifty Years of Dreams and explore the surrealist concept of free writing.

July 25—Part III invites participants to explore storytelling through themes of migration, visibility, environmental justice, and resilience using inspiration from the exhibition Anila Quayyum Agha: Interwoven.
