On Art But Make It Sports, Rader—a Vanderbilt alum, sports media professional, and lifelong art enthusiast—pairs iconic sports moments with historic works of art in surprising, humorous, and often uncanny ways. What began as a personal project has grown into a global phenomenon and inspired his book, Art But Make It Sports: Epic Matchups Where Art and Sports Collide.
Together, Rader and Maraniss will explore the unexpected connections between art and athletics, Rader’s creative process, and the story behind the phenomenon that has brought millions of sports fans and art lovers together.

About the presenters
LJ Rader runs the social media account Art But Make It Sports. He’s a former Emmy Award–winning Olympics producer and currently works full-time as the cofounder of a women’s sports data company. He’s a Vanderbilt alum who lives in New York City with his wife and young son and—you guessed it—he enjoys going to sporting events and museums.
Andrew Maraniss is a New York Times–bestselling author of more than a dozen books for adults, teens, and children. He is also the special projects director at Vanderbilt Athletics, where he manages the university’s Sports & Society Initiative.
