The Frist Art Museum paired eight students from Wharton Arts Magnet Middle School with staff photographers from The Tennessean to create photographs that reflect the students’ interests and perspectives of Tennessee.
The professional photographers shared their equipment and expertise with the youth through one-on-one support and encouragement. During the partnership, the students learned about careers in photography through job shadowing and various assignments. The photographs on view in this exhibition resulted from this collaboration.
