This exhibition presented selected works by the next generation of practicing artists, who were at the time students in college or university programs across Middle Tennessee. Works on view were chosen by departmental faculty to represent the art departments at Watkins College of Art, Belmont University, Middle Tennessee State University, Austin Peay State University, Fisk University, Lipscomb University, Appalachian Center for Craft/Tennessee Tech, Vanderbilt University, and Tennessee State University.

The exhibition provided students and faculty first-hand understanding of the role that museums play as an intermediary between artist and public, while celebrating the breadth and diversity of art training programs throughout the region.
