Join local author, historian, and community leader Dr. Jean Roseman for an evening lecture on the history of Jewish Nashville. This program is presented alongside the exhibition Beauty and Ritual: Judaica from the Jewish Museum, New York, on view from October 30, 2026 through February 7, 2027.
About the presenter
Dr. Jean Roseman was college educated in Canada and Germany. Arriving in Nashville in 1969, she taught German and Holocaust history for 28 years in Metro Nashville public schools. She initiated and ran a month-long student-exchange program with a school in Germany for 20 years. Currently retired, she has published three books on Nashville’s Jewish history. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, she started the Nashville History Club, with weekly speakers for what now numbers over 500 members. She is proud of her two children: one is a professor of veterinary anesthesiology at North Carolina State and the other an attorney in Nashville. She has five grandchildren, all currently in various colleges coast to coast. She also has a bilingual cat named Gato.
