The Mayor’s Art Show, originally begun in the 1990s under Nashville Mayor Phil Bredesen and his wife, Andrea Conte, continued under Mayor Bill Purcell.
Due to the overwhelming success of the 2004 event, the 2005 Mayor’s Art Show was presented in two sections.
Art teachers in each Metro school were able to select two works per grade level for the exhibition. The variety of images and subject matter reflect the diverse backgrounds and ideas of Metro schoolchildren.
