The Frist Art Museum invited the Nashville community to work with resident artist Sherri Warner Hunter, a nationally recognized Tennessee artist whose primary media is found materials, to produce an educational and interactive exhibition for the Frist’s Education Gallery.
This exhibition, created using found objects donated to the Frist, was inspired by the American Anthem: Masterworks from the American Folk Art Museum exhibition, on view concurrently with this exhibition.
Participants for this project were recruited through off-site workshops with the Frist’s Community Partners and through on-site workshops engaging Frist Art Museum visitors.
This project was funded under an agreement with the Tennessee Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
