The Frist Art Museum partnered with fifth and sixth grade classes at Meigs Magnet Middle School in an interdisciplinary project related to the exhibition Hudson River School: Masterworks of the Wadsworth Antheneum Museum of Art. Paintings by Hudson River School artists served as the basis for students’ investigation of an ever-evolving relationship between humans and nature.
Students’ discoveries are presented in the form of written and artistic expressions including poems, journal entries, sketches, and paintings. A selection of the students’ works and accompanying texts are displayed at the Frist as documentation of the project.
