Learn new skills and explore your creativity in this free mixed-media workshop, taught by Amber Lelli at Shelby Park Community Center. This workshop is presented in partnership with the Frist Art Museum and supported by E. A. Michelson Philanthropy and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
The class will learn new skills each week and gain tools for creative expression while developing community and engaging with the Frist’s exhibitions and programs. The workshop consists of eight 90-minute art-making sessions, with a culminating reception and celebration on week nine. Participants also receive a complimentary one-year membership to the Frist Art Museum. All materials are provided, and there is no charge for the class.

About the instructor
As an interdisciplinary artist, Amber Lelli is interested in exploring concepts, asking questions, and choosing the medium best fit for those ideas. Her artwork ranges from surreal bronze portraiture to innovative marquetry and colorful prints. Lelli holds a BFA in studio art from Middle Tennessee State University and has shown her work throughout the United States, winning various awards and scholarships along the way. She also has a background as a commercial artist and has created public works and themed environments for businesses, movie productions, music festivals, and the National Bible Museum in Washington, DC.
