About Dr. Stefano Carboni

Dr. Stefano Carboni, curator of Venice and the Ottoman Empire and former chief executive officer of the Museums Commission, Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, explores exhibition themes such as international trade, diplomatic relations, military power, and the importance of international communities in Venice. Dr. Carboni is one of the world’s most eminent scholars on this topic, and curated the seminal 2007 exhibition Venice and the Islamic World at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
