Experience a captivating Jazz on the Move performance on February 15, 2026, as acclaimed vocalist and educator Vinéecia Buchanan pays tribute to the indelible legacy of Carmen McRae. McRae, one of the most influential jazz singers of the 20th century, was celebrated for her smoky tone, behind-the-beat phrasing, innovative scat singing, and emotionally rich interpretations of jazz standards, earning wide acclaim over a career spanning more than five decades. Currently the adjunct instructor of jazz voice at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, Vinéecia Buchanan brings her multi-genre vocal mastery and deep jazz insight to life, blending performance and storytelling in this free community event presented by the Nashville Jazz Workshop at the Frist Art Museum.
