Imagined Boundaries: The Collective Chorus is a multimedia installation by artist Raheleh Filsoofi, presented as part of the In Her Place exhibition currently on view through April 26. The work centers on immigrant musicians in Nashville who deeply shape the city’s musical identity yet often remain unseen within dominant cultural narratives. Through video and presence, the installation highlights their artistic labor, cultural memory, and vital role in shaping the city’s sonic landscape.
A selected group of the musicians featured in this work will activate the installation through a live performance within the gallery. The space will transform into an intimate concert environment, where sound, voice, and melody enter into direct dialogue with the visual work.
