With ever-changing, world-class exhibition offerings, the Frist Art Museum is the perfect destination for your group outing. Groups will receive special pricing and ensure ticket availability.
Scheduling Your Visit
Reservations are required at least three weeks in advance.
Review all group tour options and then complete the appropriate tour request form.
College Groups: If you do not meet the criteria for in-person visits below, please contact the Engagement Coordinator to inquire about alternate accommodations.
Once your request is processed, you will receive confirmation of your scheduled visit with information about check-in procedures for tickets, directions for parking, and tour guidelines.

Group Admission
Ticket price includes admission to all current exhibitions.
- Adult Groups: $12.00 (per person)
- College Groups: FREE with advance group reservation
Final participant count is required three weeks prior to the scheduled tour. The Frist Art Museum accepts checks made payable to Frist Art Museum and all major credit cards. One form of payment is required for each scheduled tour and no refunds are given.
Tour Options
Docent-Guided Tour
(60-person maximum)
Tour length: approximately 1 hour
Led by Frist Art Museum docents (specially trained volunteers), docent-guided tours focus on works of art that illustrate a unifying idea of the exhibition. Docent-guided tours are offered Monday through Friday.
Self-Guided Visit
(60-person maximum)
Tour length: approximately 1 hour
Explore the exhibitions on your own using the informative written material in our gallery guides. Groups can stroll through the exhibition at their leisure and spend as much time with their favorite works of art as they like. Self-guided tours are offered every day.
Architecture Tour
(60-person maximum per tour time)
Tour length: 45 minutes
The Frist Art Museum also offers a weekly Architecture Tours on Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 p.m. for those interested in learning more about our landmark building—the former Downtown Nashville post office and a prominent Nashville architectural treasure from the Art Deco period.
Online Tour
Live (synchronous) virtual tours are led by a Frist Art Museum docent. They offer real-time looks at select works in an exhibition and encourage close study and conversation. These tours are each approximately 30-45 minutes long.

Tours are offered during the following times:
Monday: 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Friday, Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00–5:30 p.m.
Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.
Adult group guidelines:
- 60* participants maximum
- One group payment required to receive the group rate
*Groups of more than 60 people will need to consider multiple visits. No exceptions.

Check-in
Groups should arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tour time. The group tour entrance is located on Broadway at the 9th Avenue end of the building. One representative from the group should check in at Guest Services in the Main Lobby to receive admission tickets and parking validation.
Late Arrivals
Groups that are more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled tour time may be asked to wait until the next tour time becomes available. Docents reserve the right to cancel their tour if a group is more than 10 minutes late the group would be allowed to self-guide through the galleries at the next available entry time.
Parking
Groups arriving by car or van should park in the Frist Art Museum Visitor Lot located at 10th Avenue South and Demonbreun Street. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring your parking tickets inside to be validated for a reduced rate. Groups arriving by motor coach or mini buses should unload in the pull-through lane on Broadway.
