The Frist Art Museum is classified as a 501 (c) (3) exempt organization under the Internal Revenue Code. A copy of our Determination Letter is available below.

On March 3, 1998, Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Inc. was chartered as a public benefit corporation under the Tennessee Nonprofit Corporation Act. Effective April 1, 2018, we changed our name to Frist Art Museum. We are approved by the State of Tennessee to solicit funds for charitable purposes.

Our fiscal year is January 1–December 31. Audited financial statements and IRS Form 990 for the last three fiscal years are available below.
