NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 26, 2016)—Frist Center Executive Director Dr. Susan H. Edwards announced today that Nashvillian Crystal A. Churchwell will rejoin the Frist Center staff as associate director of development.

“We are excited and delighted that Crystal Churchwell will be returning to the Frist Center to assume a key role in our development efforts,” said Dr. Edwards. As a member of the Frist Center’s development team in 2010, Churchwell served as a development assistant, where she offered many meaningful contributions to membership and donor communications efforts and event planning. She left her position to pursue her MBA at Vanderbilt University, but maintained close ties to the Frist Center through her internship with the Frist Center Board of Trustees.

“We could not be more pleased to welcome back to our staff an experienced professional who has, with such distinction and commitment, supported the Frist Center through her service and dedication to our organization’s values and mission,” said Dr. Edwards.

Churchwell was most recently a senior associate brand manager at MARS Petcare, a company she joined in 2015 after serving two years as assistant brand manager at SC Johnson & Son.

Over the last seven years, Churchwell has also been actively involved with the Frist Center as a member and as co-chair of the Art Deco Affair. “My experiences have given me a tremendous opportunity to see the heart and soul of Frist Center from a number of valuable perspectives,” said Churchwell. “Having studied art history both here and abroad, I share a devotion to the Frist’s mission of bringing to Nashville the great art of the world and an abiding belief that through art we can educate, motivate, and inspire. The Frist reaches into every area of this community through partnerships and alliances that make that belief reality.”

Churchwell earned her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College (2007) and her MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management (2013). She is a member of Carrousels, Inc., and the Nashville Wellesley Club.
