This exhibition includes fifty works of art created by young people with disabilities.

Children from across the United States created thirty-two of the works at the invitation of VSA arts, an international organization that creates learning opportunities through the arts for people with disabilities. The other eighteen works were created by Nashville youth and their families during a collaborative program between the Frist Art Museum and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development.

Through their creations, the young people expressed feelings and ideas about family relationships, self, and their world.

Exhibition organized by VSA arts. VSA arts is an international nonprofit organization founded in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith. VSA arts is creating a society where people with disabilities can learn through, participate in and enjoy the arts. Nearly five million people with disabilities participate in VSA arts programs every year through a network of affiliates in 49 states and 62 countries worldwide.
