The 31 works in this exhibition were chosen to represent the best artwork by students around the world who participated in the AP Studio Art program. The works were created by students from 17 states and Trinidad and were selected from approximately 22, 000 portfolios that were submitted as part of the AP Studio Art portfolio evaluations in June 2004. In conjunction with this exhibition, a separate collection of artworks by students in local AP programs was on display to highlight the Nashville schools that participate in the AP Studio Art program.
Organized by the College Board, the AP Studio Art program makes it possible for highly motivated high school students to participate in a college-level study of art with the guidance of committed AP Teachers throughout the school year. At the end of the year students submit portfolios of their work for evaluation by college professors and experienced AP Studio Art teachers.
