Brooklyn-based sculptor Linda Herritt creates large-scale installations using fabric and other materials that are often suspended from the ceiling in compelling and lyrical arrangements. Her exhibition was a site-specific work featuring sections of clear and colored vinyl in the form of fragmented landscape imagery drawn from Western and Chinese landscape traditions. These elements, some of which were activated by motion sensors so that they were animated into a rhythmic movement, appeared to float in a spherical configuration within the gallery, alluding to a fragmented planet Earth.
