Tour Options
Docent-Guided Tour
(60-person maximum)
Tour length: approximately 1 hour
Led by Frist Art Museum docents (specially trained volunteers), docent-guided tours focus on works of art that illustrate a unifying idea of the exhibition. Docent-guided tours are offered Monday through Friday.
Self-Guided Visit
(60-person maximum)
Tour length: approximately 1 hour
Explore the exhibitions on your own using the informative written material in our gallery guides. Groups can stroll through the exhibition at their leisure and spend as much time with their favorite works of art as they like. Self-guided tours are available every day.
Online Tours
Live (synchronous) virtual tours are led by a Frist Art Museum docent. They offer real-time looks at select works in an exhibition and encourage close study and conversation. These tours are each approximately 20 minutes long.
Prerecorded (asynchronous) docent-facilitated exhibition discussions are video conversations between Frist docents about works in select exhibitions. These discussions are approximately 15-20 minutes long.
Tours are offered during the following times:
Monday: 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Friday, Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00–5:30 p.m.
