The Frist loves families! On selected Sundays each month, join us for special kid-friendly programming, family tours, and multisensory gallery experiences.


Schedule of Events

Sensory-Friendly Hour: noon–1:00 p.m. 

Explore the museum during a Sensory-Friendly Hour from noon to 1:00 p.m., when sound levels are lowered throughout the exhibitions and Martin ArtQuest.

Multisensory Exploration Station: noon–4:00 p.m.

A Multisensory Exploration Station is available in the galleries and offers opportunities for visitors of all ages to touch, smell, and listen to materials and objects of varying textures, aromas, and sounds that relate to the featured exhibition.

Family ARTlab: 1:00–4:00 p.m.

Check out a drop-in Family ARTlab in Studio A! Create your very own still life inspired by artists like Vincent van Gogh and Henri Matisse, whose work is featured in The Impressionist Revolution: Monet to Matisse from the Dallas Museum of Art. Start with a paper plate basket, use colorful paper to create your own fruits, and voilà! You’ve made a still life worthy of painting!

Family Tours: 1:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.

Family Tours begins at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Ingram Gallery information desk.

Martin ArtQuest is open every Sunday from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. Get creative and explore interactive art-making stations where you try out painting, printmaking, animation, and more!
