Do you love making films?
Join the Frist Art Museum and the Nashville Film Festival for an action-packed teen Summer Film Camp that will give you a chance to work with new friends and experienced teaching artists to turn an idea into a finished film—in one week!
Working in small production teams, you’ll develop a concept, script, storyboards, and production plan. After that, you’ll shoot your film using professional gear provided by Contrast and create a polished edit using Final Cut Pro on Apple MacBooks. Your film will then be screened during the Teens Take the Frist! event at the Frist Art Museum on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Who: All rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students
Where: Frist Art Museum, 919 Broadway, Downtown Nashville
When: July 8–12, 2024, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Class size: 20 students (minimum 10 students)

Teaching Artists
Dr. Sarah Childress
Dr. Sarah Childress is the Director of Strategy and Operations at Nashville Public Television and the Education and Engagement Manager for the Nashville Film Festival. She has taught film courses at Vanderbilt University, Bowdoin College, Belmont University, and San Francisco State University, and she helped establish the International Lens film series at Vanderbilt.
Sarah produced a film, Música Campesina, which screened at internationally renowned film festivals and her short film Blue Dragon Mussel Wagon exhibited at the Boston Center for the Arts and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. She has also introduced films and moderated discussions at the Belcourt Theatre, Frist Art Museum, Tennessee Performing Arts Center, and the Nashville Film Festival.
Jennifer Bonoir
A producer of all things producible, Jennifer has a love for storytelling in all its forms and has seen her work screened across various counties, countries, and continents. She got her start in the industry competing in the 48 Hour Film Project back in her film school days but after winning best in Nashville several times she moved on to tackling new challenges (some timed, some not).
Jennifer went on to run the Nashville 48HFP as the City Producer for 5 years and is now the Graveyard Shift Programmer for the Nashville Film Festival. She has also made a name for herself as a writer/director/producer developing award-winning commercials, music videos, and short & feature length films. While she’s worked in several different genres, she takes the most joy out of stories that blend the endearing with the macabre and is one half of the female horror duo, Wild Bones. But at her day job, as a Producer of Animation and Immersive Media at Fivestone Studios, the horror content is kept to a minimum much to her dismay.
