Call to Teen Artists
Calling ALL teens from Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson counties! If you are between the ages of 13 and 19 (as of March 1), we want to see your art. A jury of Frist Art Museum curators and educators will select one hundred artworks to be featured this summer in an exhibition titled Teens Take the Frist (July 13–September 21, 2019).
We invite you to submit one work of art for consideration. You must have completed the artwork on paper (5 x 7 in. minimum; 9 x 12 in. maximum). Your original must not be matted or framed, it must be free of hanging hardware, and it must weigh no more than 0.5 pounds. No 3-D works, including canvas panels, will be accepted. Make sure that your artwork meets all the terms and conditions on the submission form.
To submit your work to the Frist, scan or photograph the piece and save it as a JPEG (851 pixels wide x 315 pixels high; 25 MB maximum) with the title of your piece in the filename. Complete the submission form below and attach your image in the space provided. The submission deadline is May 1.
Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of their work within parameters to be specified by the museum. The Frist reserves the right to print the submitted images for display that have been selected for the duration of the show. The artist (and their parent/guardian, if the artist is under 18) must complete and sign press release, reproduction, and photo release forms upon request.
