The education staff at the Frist Art Museum is committed to helping our visitors find meaningful ways to engage with art. As staff learns from our efforts, we want to share our “lessons learned” with our colleagues in museum education. Through several national leadership grants and a Museums for America grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services, the Frist Art Museum has been able to initiate innovative programs such as Project Access and HOPE (Hispanic Outreach Partnership in Education).
In addition, the Frist Art Museum has partnered with two regional art museums, the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, and the Speed Museum of Art, Louisville, to conduct extensive research about family learning in interactive galleries.
