Presented by the Nashville Immigrant and Refugee Music and Art (NIRMA) Project

Join us for a vibrant celebration of Nowruz, the welcoming of spring! This holiday is observed in Afghanistan, Iran, Kurdistan, Tajikistan, and by many ethnic groups and communities across Central Asia and the Middle East. It symbolizes renewal and hope, offering a unique opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate our shared humanity.

Enjoy live music performed by the NIRMA ensemble as well as guest local musicians. Also experience Middle Eastern hospitality through a Haft-Sin setup, tea, coffee, and traditional delights.

This event is dedicated to NICE (Nashville International Center for Empowerment), supporting their mission to serve and empower Nashville’s diverse communities. Join us as we celebrate them and diversity, community, and the arrival of Spring!

About the NIRMA Project

Founded by Raheleh and Reza Filsoofi in 2024, the NIRMA Project celebrates the rich cultural contributions of immigrant and refugee communities in Nashville through music, art, and community events. The Nowruz celebration marks the launch of this initiative, featuring a live performance by the NIRMA ensemble and guest local musicians. NIRMA stands for creation, composition, and a celebration of new beginnings. It emphasizes the importance of amplifying immigrant and refugee voices and honoring the cultural diversity that enriches our music city.
