Join us for an evening of music in the exhibition Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature, featuring harpist and vocalist Timbre. Just as Beatrix Potter was inspired by nature, Timbre draws on the natural world in her original compositions. For this performance, she will be joined by her talented band on drums and violin.

About Timbre

Recently honored by UNESCO as having written one of the most important albums of the 2010s and featured on Jack White’s album Lazaretto, Nashville-based harpist and songwriter Timbre has been enchanting audiences throughout the US and Europe in growing numbers with her unique brand of harp-fronted chamber folk. Her career has caught the attention of the music world, and has led to her recording and collaborating with musical legends Jack White, Tom Jones, Ricky Skaggs, and artists such as mewithoutYou, O’Brother, Brooke Waggoner, and The Chariot.

The entrancing pairing of Timbre’s classically trained voice and harp skills with the dynamic sounds of her backing band often bring complete stillness to crowded bars or silence audiences of thousands at festivals. With her creative and innovative bandmates Chris Leidhecker (drums) and Camille Faulkner (violin), Timbre creates lush soundscapes that pull in listeners of every background. Sometimes haunting, sometimes driving, sometimes unabashedly joyful, Timbre creates a compelling musical experience, reminding listeners that music can move us like nothing else can.
