Join us for a gallery talk with Cayla Roach, the Frist’s summer Education and Engagement intern. Together, we’ll explore Fahamu Pecou’s work on display in the exhibition This Face Behind This Mask Behind This Skin. Cayla will take you on a journey through the inner dialogue she experienced when first viewing the exhibition. This isn’t just a gallery talk, but a journey of self-discovery and reflection.
About Cayla Roach
Cayla Roach is an undergraduate studio art major with a concentration in painting and a minor in political science at Tennessee State University, where she explores the intersection of race, identity, and politics through her work. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, she developed a deep passion for the arts and their power to foster dialogue and community. Her interests span African American art, educational programming, and curatorial practice, reflecting her commitment to making the arts more inclusive and socially engaged.
