Join artist Alyssa Gorman and learn how to use basic hand-building methods to create an organically shaped vase!
From 11:00 a.m. to noon we will tour the exhibitions David C. Driskell & Friends: Creativity, Collaboration, and Friendship and Kindred Spirits: Intergenerational Forms of Expression, 1966–1999 at the Frist Art Museum. We will look closely at the ceramic artworks in both shows and get some inspiration for our organic creations.
From noon to 1:00 p.m. we will have a lunch break; at 1:00 p.m., we will meet up at the Clay Lady Campus to continue with the workshop. We will spend three hours hand-building our very own vases, with the option to add color and surface decoration. Your work will be glazed and finished, ready to be picked up two weeks after the workshop at the Clady Lady Campus.
