Music at the Frist: Folksinger Nina Ricci
Cafe ~ FREE
Nina Ricci is a Nashville-based Americana folksinger, songwriter, and guitarist. Nina describes herself as a “folksinger,” because she holds that folk music is music “of the people, for the people” containing stories of human life, love, and faith, that have depth, richness, and value. She maintains that the best folk music has tenacity.
Nina’s music has been influenced by diverse idioms: Appalachian Folk music derived from English, Scottish, and Irish roots, popular Jazz and Blues music of the 1930’s and 1940’s, Revivalist Folk of the 1960’s, heartfelt songwriters of the 60’s and 70’s, classic and theatrical rock from the 60’s-80’s; as well as rustic, barely documented American Folk music.
Nina graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2014 earning a degree in Professional Music with concentrations in performance, songwriting, and music business and a minor in American Roots Music
