Gateways to Impressionism: French Violin Music

Celebrate spring in Nashville with an evening of French music performed by students of Stephen Miahky, the Joseph Joachim Professor of Violin at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. The program, highlighting the trajectory of Impressionism from the late 19th century into the early 20th century, will feature works by Debussy, Fauré, Franck, Prokofiev, Ravel, Saint-Saëns, and Satie, and is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Van Gogh, Monet, Degas, and Their Times: The Mellon Collection of French Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
